One glass of something we've never heard of at a wine bar tucked off Laugavegur. We let the bartender pick.

We dig through Iceland's only proper flea market. Old wool sweaters, vinyl, fermented shark if we're brave.
Flatey Pizza
We share a thin, blistered Neapolitan pizza in Grandi. Order whatever the daily special is and split it.
Reykjavík Roasters
We finish with proper coffee at the Brautarholt branch. Quiet corner, slow conversation, no rush to leave.
Throw a pot
We book a wheel session at a ceramics studio and make something lopsided together. Whoever's turns out worse owes the other a coffee.
Sandholt lunch
We grab the open sandwich of the day and a pastry at Sandholt, sitting at the window with clay still under our fingernails.
Port 9 nightcap
We end at a tiny natural wine bar and let whoever's pouring pick something orange and weird for us to split.

Mál og Menning
We pick out a book for each other on Laugavegur. Something the other one would never buy themselves.
Súpa at Svarta Kaffið
A bread bowl of soup in a dim upstairs room. We read each other the first page of whatever book we just picked.
Reykjavík Roasters
A slow coffee at the Kárastígur shop, the one with the wooden crates and the smell of roasting beans hitting the street.
Lucky Records
We dig through the crates at Lucky Records and each pick one album for the other. Cheap, weird, or beautiful, dealer's choice.
RAMEN MOMO
We slide into RAMEN MOMO for steaming bowls of tonkotsu. Small room, fogged-up windows, exactly what a grey afternoon wants.
Sandholt
We grab cardamom buns and good coffee at the counter, then take a small table by the window and watch Laugavegur wake up.
Kolaportið
We wander the weekend flea market down by the harbour, picking through old books, woolens, and whatever weird thing catches our eye.
Along the harbour
We walk the old harbour toward the lighthouse, stopping for an ice cream cone from Valdís no matter what the weather is doing.
Raufarhólshellir
We drive 30 minutes out and walk a kilometre into a 5,000-year-old lava tube. Helmets on, headlamps swinging, breath visible.
Hvammsvík
On the way back we detour to a fjord and sit in seawater pools at the tideline. Eight pools, each a different temperature.
Messinn
Back in town, late and salt-crusted, we share a pan of buttery arctic char with potatoes straight from the skillet.
Bónus run
We give ourselves 20 minutes and a 4000 kr budget at Bónus to grab everything for dinner. No phones, no recipes, just instinct.
The wine pick
One bottle from Vínbúðin to match whatever weird groceries we just bought. Ask the clerk if we get stuck.
Kitchen experiment
Back home to cook whatever we ended up with. Whoever's kitchen is closer wins. The rule is we use everything.
